Inspector Spacetime was brainchild of the great writers for Community on NBC. It was supposed to be just a simple spoof, and turn into something the fans could play with. They couldn’t have been more correct. Travis Richey has been working hard to bring the inspector to life on the computer screen. With great writers, terrific actors, and a fantastic crew this mainstream side project has fast become it’s own entity and force to be reckoned with.
Inspector Spacetime is about an alien that can travel through space and time in his B.O.O.T.H., Bio Organic Omnidirectional Time Helix, that he calls RED. Along the way he picks up his associates and with their help he battles the forces of evil and saves the earth.
The show itself shows a great imagination. The show is well directed, the scripts are well written (and we all know I’m a sucker for a well written script), the story is engaging, the characters are well conceived, and the well timed comedy had me laughing loudly in my seat. If you’re a fan of Dr. Who then this is a webseries you just can’t miss.
I rate things on a 1-5 number system. 1 meaning poor, 2 meaning fair, 3 meaning good, 4 meaning very good, and 5 meaning excellent. So, what is my rating for Inspector Spacetime?
5 out of 5
It’s a good time for everyone!
But the fun doesn’t stop there. They have started a Kickerstarter to fund season two. Season two promises to be much bigger and more exciting. It will include such talents as Mayim Bialik from “The Big Bang Theory,” Chase Masterson from “Deep Space 9,” and the ever fantastic Robert Picardo from “Star Trek: Voyager.” If you’re interested in everything else Travis Richey has to offer then check out his youtube channel here.
I was able to interview the Inspector! If you’re interested in what he had to say check below:
